I've been using Nuvaring for 8 years now and have had no other side effects than going from a C cup to a D cup, but no weight gain anywhere else! It's very effective and no mood swings. And my sex drive is still very much in tact- never been affected. Much lighter periods are a plus (3 days or less), no more pain with periods at all and not having to worry whether I took the pill at the right time...

Well yes, nuvaring will keep your from getting pregnant. It will also make you an emotional basketcase to the point that a guy who claims he loves you "can't handle it" and runs off with an emotionally unavailable slut. Works wonders in preventing babies though.

I have used NuvaRing for years now and not had any major problems with it. I did not experience weight gain or depression or even a lowered sex drive! The only thing I don't like about it is that sometimes during sex it will come out randomly or the guy will feel it and it weirds him out. I'm also not a fan of putting it in/taking it out but that's a personal preference on your body.

I started the NuvaRing three years ago at age 27 after having horrible side effects from Ortho TriCyclen Lo. I thought the Nuva was very easy to use and very effective. The only side effect I had was melasma on my forehead. No weight gain, no mood swings, my periods were light. Great option if you are tired of taking the pill but please watch out for the melasma side effect from the estrogen.

From day one, the morning after I put it in I wake up so nauseous, obviously not pregnant. This same thing happened with the pills to me. Otherwise no complaints except a little uncomfortable when we had sex, got to the point where I took it out to do the deed and put it back in when I was done, never any slipping or moving from its place. I'm going back to the shot after about a yet with the ring

It's great not to have to remember to take a pill everyday, but the ring comes out all the time! I have to fix it at least 2x a day. I went to my doctor and she said everything with me is normal, this just happens to some women sometimes. It's very annoying and uncomfortable! It just doesn't stay in. Why do they make it ring shaped?! They should make it cylindrical shaped like a tampon! What a poorly designed product.

Easy to remember and not to worry about a daily pill. Have been on it for 3mo. and my mood swings are horrible, depression is slowly becoming more and more difficult to deal with and I have no appetite since I feel so anxious and nerve wrecking. My self esteem has been down and feel these mood swings are just getting worst. Will remove immediately

I have been using the Ring for about 6 weeks. the first three weeks with the Ring I started getting headaches. I never get head aches. fortunately OTC methods work so I decided to continue using the Product after my cycle ended. Well now I am realizing a new sympton. My sex drive is gone. Is that how this BC works, it just makes you not want to have sex? Have been stressed out over things that normally wouldn't bother me. feeling depressed, and not caring about anything. This is NOT ME!. I came to this site to see if other women were having similar issues. I see that I am not alone. I wish they would could make a product that would just do one thing without all the side effects. Also it's shameful they get to "claim" they have no side effects when clearly they do. I guess our mental health is not important. I am going to take this thing out of my body right now. Hopefully I will get back to my normal self. Read More Read Less

I haven't gained any weight during the 2 months I have been on it, which was a major concern of mine. I'm already overweight, exercise 4-5 times a week, but do not have the best eating habits. I do have terrible mood swings. I'm usually a very happy person but lately It's been a daily battle within myself. I feel sad, lonely, hopeless, worthless, and ugly. I've lost enjoyment in my daily life and I am always lashing out at my boyfriend. I am finally going to go off of it because I rather be happy and use other methods of birth control. I have been on the Ring for 6 months. I started using it after I was diagnosed with a hormone imbalance disorder. It went well at first, but now I have extreme depression and anxiety, and my menstrual cycle is much heavier. Time for something new

I loved my nuvaring for the first 1.5-2 years I was on it, but over time I became more and more depressed until I went to my general physician in tears asking what was going on. Another year of that, then I switched jobs and had a gap in my health insurance. The mood issues have disappeared, but I starting bloating, swelling, and gaining weight rapidly (15 lbs in 3 weeks, up to 20 now after 2 months off nuvaring), and for the first time in my life, having issues with acne. Considering going back on just to re-regulate my hormones and for extra protection against pregnancy. Read More Read Less

My doctor prescribed me this as a way of birth control. I was only on it for maybe 6 days before I started having a really weird reaction to it. on day 6 I had gone to work and noticed my legs were feeling really sore I wasn't really sure why but thought that maybe I had over exuded myself the day before and didn't know it, but when I got home later that night my legs had gone from feeling sore to having a burning, stinging, aching pain! It was worse than anything I had ever felt! I thought maybe I'll wait it out and see if it subsides, it only got worst and my arms began to feel as my legs had while I was at work. I was asked if I had been on any new meicines and mentioned NUVARING. I pulled it out ASAP and the pain began to subside almost instantly it wasn't until the next day though that I felt a huge relief and a few more days to get back to myself! BE CAREFUL when trying this and DO NOT avoid WARNING SIGNS!Read More Read Less

This is an easy birth control in the sense of not taking a pill every day. However it made me extremely anxious and depressed. The longer I was on it the worse it became until I found myself fighting tears on a daily basis and having dark thoughts. After almost 5 months on it i decided to ditch the ring. I read other reviews and other women who were experiencing the same thing as I was. I have been an emotional wreck and I hope to return to myself soon since discontinuing use of the ring.

I used Nuva Ring for a few years for the purpose of birth control. I had only one issue, which at the time I didn't know was because of the medication. I had zero sex drive. It ended up causing a major problem in my marriage. I am trying it again, several years later, after a tubal ligation, for PMS and hormonal issues. I am hoping the same problem will not arise, because I otherwise found it to be great, but I will discontinue use if it does.

I went on this drug before attending college to avoid missing my birth control pills. This does not decrease my sex drive or cause me or my partner any issues during sex. I have experienced decreased amounts of acne and shortened periods. Minimal weight gain, this may just be because of attending college but I thought I would mention that this might happen. But overall this has worked better for me than the pill and mirena.

I bought this thing cause I wanted an alternative to taking birth control pills everyday, but I went back to the pill because the ring was uncomfortable during sex, it made sex not possibly for me. the ring takes up a lot of space inside you, and and the penis has to share that space... the Q

Pros: decreased acne, easy to use and remember Cons: decreased libido to the point where I didn't even like anyone touching me at all, developed sever anxiety to the point where I would shake and I had never had anxiety before, developed eczema on my face that would get very bad and splotchy whenever sexually active, gained 40 lbs when continuing to exercise and eat well, developed slight depression.

It seems like every time I am sexually active the ring will come out. And it pretty much comes out with out me even being aware.

The convenience of this method of birth control is awesome- put it in for 3 weeks, set yourself an alarm to take it out for 7 days, put it back in- simple & easy. My drive to have sex has gone down 99.9% and I do have feelings of anxiety and depression when never had them before. I did have an episode where I woke up nauseous and dehydrated. Ended up vomiting, diarrhea, feeling faint, and a burning sensation all over my body. My complexion also started to look very "drab". I've only been on it for 10 month and today is my first day that I can off of it and I don't plan on going back.Read More Read Less

I switched to the pill after using the nuva ring after the full three weeks simply because it made my face break out severely and caused it to be extremely dry. It was to the point where I didn't want to leave the house because how extreme my face broke out and how badly it hurt. Even with my insurance, it was over $100 for one ring. This form of birth control was not worth it, for me.

This is my second time using NuvaRing and it's just as great as I remember it being. I have a busy life so having something I can leave for 3 weeks is great. It stays in place and I don't even notice it's there. It's also improved sensitivity in my vagina so sex has been more satisfying. I rarely have side affects from medication and that hasn't changed with NuvaRing. My husband doesn't notice it during intercourse, well not majorly, and he's just happy I've found something that is effective and something I can't forget to take. Overall I'm very happy I switched back to NuvaRing after being on the pill.Read More Read Less

So I've been on he nuvaring for a few years with a break in between to have my son. Never had a problem until recently. My husband is starting to get rashes after sex due to allergies we think are brought on by his medication. So that's a bummer. Looks like we have to switch.
