My doc prescribed (10mg) this to me after not having periods off/on for over 2 yrs. It has worked great. 1st month I started 16 days after 10th pill, 2nd month 7 days later 3rd month and following months 6 days later. Not only am I now having normal cycles, I have lost weight, headaches have reduced - I feel almost normal again! The first cycle was very heavy but have gotten lighter each month...

I've been on this medication for 4 days now. My doctor prescribed it to start my periods again since my period has been absent for 4 months. I was prescribed a 10 day dose, today I am expieriencing rib pain, stomach cramps and EXTREME tiredness, also a loss of appetite. Can't wait to end this medication! I'm just hoping it brings my periods back and not too heavy.

I'm 53 2 years into menopause. I've always taken estrogen for birth control and transitioning into menopause I couldn't go without it because of severe hot flashes. I' m told I need to take progesterone if I' m taking this but I swear its doing a number of things that I ant to know if anyone else has. I have occational hives and skin changes, weight gain, fat deposits seem to go into pockets. My doctor says its aging but it was rapid after beginning this drug. My hands and feet seem to fall asleep more often like poor circulation. I'm a little scared to stay on this but more scared to try to be off. Severe mood swings, lack of sleep and hot flashes if I go off it. Can't win!Read More Read Less

When I went to the Dr. in June, 2013 I was given this medicine along with estradiol the lowest dosage possible. I was told that I was menopausal and that taken this medication it would help my hot flashes(only when I went to bed at night) and serve mood swings while I was going through the change of life. These medications worked wonders I thought until one day at work (Data Entry) the mouse went across my desk, it frighten me badly until I relaize that I had thrown it myself. I had been having small jerks only on the right side of my body, arm, leg, and head. This is when I started to notice on a daily basis it was going on more often, I only took these medications for 1 month but I still notice small jerks not daily, but enough; hopefully that will end soon. I also must mention that I have a low tolerance (hypersensitive to medicine) what works normal for most people it usually don't for me, medicines can be extremely dangerous for me even life threatening, so I can only speak about side effects that it had on me, not necessarily the medicine as much as for me being so sensitive from taking medicines. I did notice rapid weight gain and staying hungry and never the feeling of being full. I a serve craving for sweets, which I never had before I took this medicine. wondering if anyone else has had similar problems? Read More Read Less

51 yr old, 4-5 periods in last year, doc prescribed to give more periods. Took from 1st to 10th of this month - two weeks later still no period. Feel that it altered my moods somewhat. Reluctant to continue due to other known side effects.

I was prescribed third drug to help wit the frequency and severity of my Hereditary Angioedema attacks. I have been on it for six months slowly increasing the dosage from 2.5 mg to 10 mg per day. The only good thing it did was soften my skin, and caused me to be able to perspire again. I stopped being able to perspire when I started having my period at age 13. I was very hopeful that it would help with my hereditary angioedema attacks, but after six months, it has not. So I am slowly reducing the dosage. Read More Read Less

I had my daughter two years ago, spend three days in the hospital and a week after the birth bleeding ended. I started my period. It lasted for months. The only thing that worked and stopped the bleeding was the Depo shot. After two years of being on the shot, my obgyn recommended I take a year off. It has only been six months since I stopped and I am back to bleeding, it has been a full month now. My doctor put me on a medroxyprogesterone pill for 10 days and it was like I took a sugar pill. It did not work but its weird because I have been feeling like I am pregnant from all the side effects, but I know I'm not. My husband and I would like to have another child. I can't deal with a constant period, but I do not want to get back on birth control. I lost my baby weight but once I started taking depo I gained it back plus some. Has anyone experienced this and any suggestions?Read More Read Less

I am 48 yrs old. I have had hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings since I started menopause symptoms since 9/2010. First time trying hormones, last night first dose, about 2 hrs after my chest felt very tight, I went to sleep and woke up several times still night sweats, my hands were swollen, part of my face and feet. I was told I had an allergic reaction to meds and to take benedryl which sent me into anxiety. Oh boy! What now?

I have PCOS and didn't have my period for about 8 months. I was used to it because when I was 18 I missed my periods by months. My doctor first said it was normal then I went to the Gyno. Anyways, at the end of April I went to the Gyno and she prescribed this for me to jump start my period then I had to take my birth control as soon as my period started. I got my period the day after I finished my 10th pill. I had my period for 7 days. It's been two weeks and I just started getting my period again! Is this happening to anyone else? I'm calling the doctor tomorrow but I just wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else. Overall the medicine did what it was supposed to do. The only side effects I had were really bad headaches and dizzyness.Read More Read Less

I was prescribed this medication because my periods were so bad that I went through pads and tampons with in 15 minutes. It was ruining me and so depressing for me to even want to get out of bed. So far this has worked for me. After 2 doses my period faded. The only downfall is I take 4 a day for 1 week then 3 a day for a week and so on and so forth. I do have slight pressure right above my belly but thats it.

This is my 3rd time taking medroxy to jump start my period. The first time, I started 3 days after the 10th pill. The second time, I started 4 days after the 10th pill. This time, it's been 7 days since I took the 10th pill and still have not started. Is this normal?
