Zolpidem has been a very effective sleep aid for me over the past seven months. I take it 5-6 nights per week and am able to achieve a full night's rest without awakening until morning. In the morning, I feel refreshed and have no sense of drowsiness; my memory has not been affected by this medication, at least that I can recall. Take it 30 minutes before retiring; the effect will be apparent.

i fall asleep much faster and sleep longer since using ambien. i only take it once in a while, when i need to sleep. sometimes it makes me dizzy when it starts kicking in, and thats my cue to get in bed. good sleep aid with less side effects in the morning after.

I have been using it for few years and it still works. I had some eye pain with the regular but not with the CR. Too bad it is so expensive. So I alternate with stress meds that give me shorter sleep till CR version becomes generic.

since i was 12 yrs old i have never been able to sleep a full night. I used to have nightmares, or just tossed and turned.(as my daughter does to) this med has really helped alot. I can go to sleep, actuallu rest. wake up refreshed again. I can think and feel energy again. My mind is together.

For as long as I can remember, it took me at least 30 minutes to an hour to fall asleep. But when I first started taking this medication, it worked great. I would fall asleep within 20 minutes and be out like a light, with no after-effects the next day. However, after about 3 months of using it regularly, the med stopped working as well. I would lay in bed having very strange, vivid thoughts that would distract me from falling asleep. Also, I would wake up several times throughout the night and have trouble falling back asleep. I eventually had to go back to my doctor to try something else, but nothing has worked quite as well as Ambien (Zolpidem) did those first few months.Read More Read Less

First night using; fell to sleep within 20 minutes and slept about 7 hours which is great for me; but woke up feeling groggy and felt groggy throughout the day. Heard that this side-effect will diminish. I'll keep using; sleeping 7 straight is a godsend for me; just hope that the grogginess will subside. Don't like feeling like I'm walking around in a fog all day.

I cut the 10 mg tablet in half so I take 5 mgs a night works good. I read that it makes the side affects worse I haven't notice anything.

WebMD has no listing for the drug prescribed, Zolpidem Tartrate. However, last night was my first time taking this and I had mixed results. Falling asleep was no real hassle, I did slowly slip into slumber. However, I still awoke several times thru the night and was still a bit drowsy in the morning. I have gone nearly two years without adequate sleep, so I will give it another week before I go back to my practioner as it may be just my body adjusting. Although, I have taken regular Ambien which works wonderfully, but 10mg might not be enough for me.Read More Read Less

The drug takes effect quite quickly (about 15 minutes for me) so I make sure I get in bed as soon as a take it, and the sleep is wonderful. I have no drowsiness the next day. It's just great!

The first night I used it, it worked extremely well. As I took it over the 2 week time its effects began to weaken. I now need to take 1 1/2 - 2 pills to sleep. Without zolpidem I cannot sleep at all.

I was useing it to sleep I do in full dose now I can use a half a dose for pain in my shoulder and it is very helpful without much of a drowsy side effect. It is wonderful I just have not told my doctor...why? he might take the only thing that has fixed this shoulder pain.
