(6.5 mg)First dose I woke up at 7am convinced it was 7pm and my poor husband must be faint from hunger, so I made a pizza from scratch. Second day, I fainted in the bathroom and face planted into the bath tub wall. My face was solid black from hairline to below my cheekbone and the area around my eyebrow was so swollen the skin split. My husband takes 10 mg of the same stuff and has no problems so apparently there is some clash with the other meds I take.

I've been taking this drug for years I started on 10mg and now I take 5mg because my doctor wants me to stop taking it. I feel great on it and I get a good nights sleep. All the crazy things they say can happen does not happen to me. I also have Gerd and sleep apnea. I guess I don't understand why my doctor wants me to stop but he said it's a narcotic and addicting.

Hi. I take 10mg of Zolpidem every night out of habit hoping each time I do it will actually work. I sleep every other night for about 10 hours out of sheer exhaustion. I have GERD, so I usually spend my first 30 minutes in the morning vomiting. I was on trazadone, didnt work. Now this. I just have to wait out the time insurance will approve the next drug (usually 3 months). I also have sleep apnea, which my doctor knows about, and I read here then thats dangerous to be on this drug with depression, sleep apnea and low kidney function. My doctor and I have much to discuss next visit.Read More Read Less

Started having trouble sleeping a little over a year ago. Have tried a variety of over-the-counter medications (PM pills, melatonin, etc) and then Trazodone (dry mouth, ugh) before moving to Zolpidem. So far it has been very good, no side effects, the only drawback is knowing it's effectiveness will slowly fade and I should start slowly getting off of it. But this drug has helped me immensely - going thru life on no sleep is horrible - and this has gotten me back to sleeping which is of course essential.Read More Read Less

I agree with Carole 55-64 that are oblong peach and marked 10mg with logo are worthless. The logo appears to be a dice showing 5 dots. Who has that as their logo? These are going back

I don't know what has changed I was on a small oblong yellow or white pill within 15 minutes I was asleep and generally slept through the night with the exception of possibly using the restroom and going right back to sleep. They have put me on a peach colored oblong 10 milligram and I stay awake half the night and the other half I toss and turn I want my Zolpidem back... Does anyone have any idea what they switch me to this is by torrent I think I was on Mylam. I want my mylam back!!!

I usually get a generic 10 mg by Torrent mnfr. The pharm didn't have but one generic this time by Mylam.. Every night since I wake up at 100am. I thought it might be 5 mg but it is 10. So I will have 3 months of bad sleep before I can be reunited with my one and only Torrent..... Oh well. Could always be worse.

I have Gerd and I cannot take too much of this. What I found effective is to take 2.5 mg under the tongue which works in about 30 min. But I wake up half way through the night to go to the bathroom. So I take another 2.5 mg under the tongue and all is great. However, I alternate nights with 10 mg of Melatonin because the Zolpidem exacerbates the gerd and also makes me very tired throughout the day. So only doing a total of 5 mg three times a week then alternating with 10mg of melatonin 3x per week is much easier on my system. Not sure if taking this under the tongue is bad for the gerd. Would like feedback.Read More Read Less

I have been taking 5mg about three nights a week and, while 5mg helped me sleep in the beginning, it no longer appears to help. When it did work, I experienced minor side effects such as mild disorientation between the time I took the medication and falling asleep but nothing major.

I have fibromyalgia, amongst other illnesses. I have had difficulty sleeping for decades. Approximately 10 years ago my physician prescribed me Ambien at 5 mg. I began taking it and was able to get 6 hours of solid sleep. As time went by, we had to increase the dosage to 10 mg. I found that when I took the drug nightly, many mornings I awoke in a fog and disoriented, very fatigued. It was decided that I take the drug only as needed when I was unable to fall asleep on my own. This has worked out much better for me now. I don't recommend Ambien CR as it was way too potent for me and left me in a constant fog. I felt like a walking zombie on CR. My only complaint is the drug keeps increasing in cost through my Medicare plan. Take note: do not take this drug until 30 minutes before bedtime.Read More Read Less

This medicine did not help my trouble sleeping. This made it worse. I took the pill and lied down within 5 minutes. I started to see and hear hallucinations. Will not take again.

I occasionally take Ambien when I log too many consecutive nights of sleeplessness. It has always worked beautifully. I have taken Ambien and some generic forms of Zolpidem Tartrate. All of them worked well. Recently I was given a generic Zolpidem Tartrate it is peach colored, oblong and has 10 MG printed on one side and a logo on the other side. I have taken this generic a number of times -- sometimes I have even doubled the dose -- and it seems to have no effect on me whatsoever! Does anybody monitor what's in generic medicine?Read More Read Less

I have taken Ambien for over ten years and it works well if used correctly. This medication has to be taken and immediately get in the bed and turn off lights and TV. If you stay awake for more than 15 minutes that's where the strange things come in, eating, not remembering things, making phone calls etc. I have noticed memory loss and am wondering will taking this drug lead to dementia or alzheimers later? Wonder if there are any studies be conducted?

I had a few weeks with not sleeping or an hour or two a night. My doctor had me on Zolpidem 10mg to start out with. It worked but I only slept 3 to 4 hours a night. They switched me to Zolpiem CR 6.5 mg. It was too low of a dose to sleep. The doctor told me to take two. That did the trick! I vary from sleeping 6 to 8 now. Even with an empty stomach, it takes an hour to 90 minutes to fall asleep.

I have taken Ambien for several years, and they have literally saved my life! I have restless leg syndrome and only slept 2 to 3 hours per night before taking Ambien. They usually work very well, except for two generic versions and neither of them helps me sleep. The one I’m rating now is Oblong, white with a (V) on one side and (6469) on the other. I would be surprised if it contains any Zolpidem at all; I actually feel ripped off! I have taken two of these pills in as many hours and still did not sleep! I'm taking them back to the pharmacy and moving my prescription somewhere else. I have taken the name brand version for several years and have never built up a tolerance to it; it has always worked very well! Read More Read Less
