After taking half the dose (600 mg to 300 mg) 30 minutes before a meal, I feel very sluggish, less active, no energy, VERY SLEEPY, diarrhea, gas, stomach cramps,dizzy, etc....than after 3-4 hrs i get very irritated and anxious and more sleepy.

I,m going to try to take this med a bit longer to see if the dizziness goes away because its supposed to be effective. I get terribly dizzy for about 3 hours after taking each pill, so instead of taking it 1/2 hr before meals, I'm starting to take the morning pill before dawn when I get up to go to the bathroom, then take the evening pill when I go to bed. Since pill instructions say ".... 1/2 hr before eating or as ordered by Dr...." I'm assuming the pills are still effective even if I don't take them 1/2 hr before meals. Too early to tell if my triglycerides have come down. I have a lasting headache and believe it's related to this medication.

Been waking up every morning with my arm numb. Was first on tricor but switched because of cost to Gemfibrozil as generic for tricor but did not have this side effect with Tricor???

Before going on a regimen of Gemfibrizil, my triglycerides were in the 600-650 range. I've been on the drug now for over a year, and my levels are now between 100-140.

After 3 weeks on the medication I started having severe muscle pain, which I did not know was a side effect until I had been taking the medicine for 5 weeks, which was just a few days ago. My doctor is doing lab work immediately.

I'm not sure, but when I take my evening meds, this one included, my temp goes up like I have a low grade fever (99-100). This only happened one other time with Wellbuten. I don't like this as I feel like I might have the flu or something when I really don't. I wake up in the mornings feeling fine, no fever or chills. I noticed that this drug can cause fevers so I'm going to ask for a med change. Using this medication for about 6 months or so.

I have a hard time taking it too late at night because it makes me dream. I have to remember to take it before dinner not after dinner.

have developed sore throat and itching and excessive bleeding from sores I Was taking med with lipitor.

I am using Crestor and my total #, hdl and ldl were all below normal levels, but my triglyceride level was around 250. After 3 months of adding gemfiborzil, my tri level went down to 135.

After a several weeks on this drug I developed deep muscle pains in large muscles of the legs and arms. Although triglycerides and cholesterol did come down I discontinued use.

I had a minor heart attack in 2003,my doctors could not get my cholesterol ad blood sugar down to almost normal. this medication has helped lower my cholesterol and tryglicerides a great deal. I have had almost normal cholesterol and tryglicerides readings from my lab tests. I would recommend anyone to talk their doctor about this drug. It has helped me great deal
