Teens need more sleep than adults, so it's important they bag those extra Z's. Here are three ways to inspire teens to sleep more. First, block a schedule. Help teens figure out the bedtime that will let them get enough sleep. Teens who need to get up at 6:30 should go to bed at 9:30 to get at least nine hours of rest. Are they too busy to hit the sack on time most nights? Take a look at their schedule and see if there are activities they can cut out.

Second, get them moving. Teens should get 60 minutes of exercise every day. Exercise improves the quality of sleep, makes you sleep longer, and relieves stress. Third, help them find a relaxing nighttime routine. Try a warm shower or a good book before bed instead of screen time, which revs up their brains. They should start winding down about an hour before bedtime.
