I was diagnosed with bursitis in my right hip I had been suffering from for months. My doctor wanted to give me a cortisone shot in my bursa. I refused. My brother had suffered from bursitis in his shoulder and suggested that I try dissolving one tablespoon of gelatin and take with juice (I take it with strong green tea) Well, it was a miracle! (or a coincidence) but within about two weeks my pain...

There is a noticeable difference since taking gelatin as a supplement. I use Great Lakes grass fed kosher and organic. I take 2 teaspoons in a little oj mixed with water. I've been adding it to a green drink made with collards, frozen pineapple, a teaspoon of ground flax and a teaspoon of chia seeds every morning for the last month and a half. Before taking this supplement, I was in so much lower back pain - now there is practically no pain. I also have less allergies and my teeth are not as sensitive to temperature. I also take vit D and melatonin before bed and am sleeping better than ever. I'm thrilled with the results and will continue using this as a supplement.Read More Read Less

I started taking the gelatin for my knee pain. It took only about 2 weeks for me to notice an incredible difference. My knees only bother me when it rains, and even then the pain is very mild now. I can walk more normally and for longer periods of time and I can finally sleep all night. Oh, my hair grows much faster and so do my nails :)

I am taking 2 teaspoons of gelatin a day. My hands are very swollen when I get up in the morning. Is this from taking the gelatin. They are worse since doing the gelatin for 6 weeks. Thanks.

I am an older bodybuilder. Started using gelatin when I read a study stating it helps patients with RA symptoms. Used jello type gelatin and, while it helped me, was very difficult to consume (outside of making jello with it). Purchased "beef protein" from specialty store and it has worked brilliantly. It helps me recover from strenuous exercise quickly but my hair/nails/skin have not looked this healthy in years. Study states that you must consume 10g daily for at least 30 days before benefits are apparent. Highly recommended.Read More Read Less

I began taking Great Lakes hydrolyzed gelatin six months ago. My lower back pain disappeared in <1week. I have had mild to severe pain since puberty but do not know underlying cause. I continue to take 1T of gelatin 1-2x/day. The pain does return if I stop. No side effects from the treatment.

Arthritis from repetitive construction work. Swelling of joints in the wrists and elbows. Swelling numbness and excruciating pain of hands causing loss of sleep. Symptoms eased up after one week of treatment by consuming 2 packs of gelatin per day that returned if stopped for a few weeks. I would then return to taking gelatin and it would again improve.

I had experienced critically painful osteoarthritis,in my back, from the age of 38-caused, I believe, by a bicycle accident I had when I was 17 yrs old. I began taking 2 teaspoons of cooking gelatin powder (very cheap!), dissolved in fruit juice, daily. Apart from having to drink it quickly as the gelatin begins to thicken in seconds, I have found it to be miraculous to eradicate my pain almost entirely! The only time I get osteoarthritis like pain now is if I forget to have it for a few days, or run out and forget to buy it again. The only reason a study has not been done to prove the effectiveness of this simple remedy is that no pharmocuetical company stands to profit from a freely available and very cheap product found in every baking aisle of every supermarket. I implore you- get your life back-TRY IT! Live free from that pain now-cheaply!I now live virtually pain free and even go to gym regularly at age 49. I am even doing a massage course, considering starting a massage business- which is quite strenuous for the back! try it and spread the word too-stop giving your precious money to pharmaceutical companies that have promulgated a huge lie about glucosamine and chondroitan being effective for osteoarthritis- which studies show are no better than a placebo! I would not worry about mad cow disease concerns-gelatin is produced by boiling animal products and boiling kills bacteria and viruses. These concerns were probably put out there by the pharmaceutical companies that have lied to us all about glucosamine and chondroitin. Gelatin is only protein (collagen), and cartilage is made mostly of collagen. It makes sense to me-provide your body with the exact nutrient it seems to be lacking-daily and you will be fine. Also remember - as most wholistic practitioners will tell you- we are responsible for our health and much disease is caused by a deep emotional scar or three, so try to also love yourself unconditionally, be kind to others and set yourself free!Read More Read Less

I had pain in my shoulder for 5 months and after staying off exercise and getting a steroid shot my shoulder was still hurting. I had an x-ray done and it showed arthritis. For another reason I decided to make jello from plain gelatin and pomegranate juice to eat as a snack. I was eating two 4ounce bowls a day ( using the Knox blox recipe). To my surprise after a week my symptoms totally disappeared. It may be a coincidence but I don't think so after researching gelatin. I now make it with just 1 packet of gelatin and eat 1-2 bowls a day. My pain never returned Read More Read Less
