I started taking Theanine daily (100mg a day) after 2 weeks of daily panic attacks. Right away I noticed a difference. I could feel the anxiety build and then die down. Before taking the supplement I would spend 15 minutes in a full blown attack. I took it daily for 60 days. Now, I take it on days when I feel anxious or under a lot of stress. I tell everyone with anxiety to try it. There ar...

I received l-theanine from Liftmode a few weeks ago, and I am very glad that I did. It does an awesome job of relaxing me and helping me focus when my mind is racing. It gives a nice relief to my anxiety that is subtle yet you can feel. I would recommend the brand LiftMode if you are looking for theanine. The product is comes with papers verifying the purity of the product, and they seem to be reliable.

I tried many brands, and non work AT ALL except for Thorne. So if you've tried a different brand and felt nothing, I reccomened checking out theirs- not sure what they are doing differently but it works. Anyways, theanine helps me to sleep (works great!!) and calms my anxiety the whole next day. I originally began taking it to prevent seizures (I had one a year ago) and have noticed its other calming effects. I take 300 to 400 mg at night, about 14 nights a month, as needed. It also calms social anxiety so sometimes I take a smaller dose before parties. Read More Read Less

For 1 month I was taking l-theanine (2) 100mg capsules 3x/day for depression/anxiety along with (2) 500mg l-tryptophan and 1 3mg time release melatonin before bed to help with insomnia. After 1 month I only take (2) 100mg l-theanine capsules when I feel anxiety creeping up, it works within 15 mins. Excellent results!

My doctor recommended this during a very stressful time and I found it to be quite effective. I had previously been on a temporary Rx for Valium. I take Theanine Serene by Source Naturals and now, just purchasing and bringing home the bottle is relaxing to me. :-)

I take this when I have a "busy brain" and can't switch it off to go to sleep. Usually 1 is enough to quieten things down, I have used 2 if feeling agitated after a stressful day. I have also taken 2 about half an hour before giving presentations at work and they are very effective for performance anxiety.

I am 58 and have struggled with ADD all my life. My wife and I were trying to figure out why I had suddenly become so calm and focused. She finally figured out that starting a few weeks ago I had been taking a herbal sleep aid called Super Sleep when we looked into the ingredients L Thenanine was one of the major ones. I can honestly say I can never remember being so calm and focused and my memory is far better. Other than a few small things you wouldn't know I had ADD which is a bit of a miracle.Read More Read Less

I take just 100 mg a day and the "fog" of menopause is gone, I'm relaxed yet mentally focused. I couldn't believe there was a supplement that could both relax and make me more mentally alert. But the main thing is that it deepens sleep and lets me sleep throughout the night. I tried everything I could get my hands on that would keep me from waking up (like clockwork) 2-1/2 to 3 hours after falling asleep. I would find things that would help me nod off, but nothing that kept me asleep for a full night of rest. Using theanine has finally allowed me to sleep throughout the night and I have SO much energy without feeling in the slightest bit groggy. A couple of weekends ago, I cleaned the entire house, something I haven't done since I started menopause (always hired maids;-). I should mention that I take melatonin also (but melatonin alone did not keep me asleep throughout the night and so I added theanine). I also have to make sure I take fiber and fluids, because I believe (my own observation) that either the theanine or the melatonin cause a little constipation, but nothing serious. My doctor was suggesting high blood pressure medicine, which I was trying to avoid and used the L-Thianine to lower blood pressure. I absolutely works and there are no side effects unless you call a relaxed attitude a side effect.
