I love the cleansing feeling and effortless movements that come after drinking psyllium fiber, but I don't love how gloopy and overly sweetened commonly available psyllium fiber products are. I especially dislike the "gotta-go-RIGHT-NOW" feeling that hits the morning after. My partner bought inulin fiber for me, not knowing there was any difference between fibers, and wow I really like this stuff!...

It was AWFUL!!!! It made me physically ill. I had a terrible headache that lasted two days, horrible intestinal gas that was almost constant and it lasted four days, I had excruciating pain across the middle area of my back caused by the constant production of the excessive gas, I had an overly bloated stomach and gut from the excessive gas, I was unable to go out in public because of the "expl...

I am involved in a nutrition group at the local childrens hospital and they have warned us AGAINST using this stuff as a fiber replacement.. in ten years we'll be reading about how bad this stuff is "they" said. The specialists said it's right up there with aspartame.

I was given this for treatment of SIBO...my confusion comes in the fact that this substance serves as FOOD for bacteria to grow. My DO stated that I have an overgrowth of bacteria in my colon. I have only felt worse. More bloated, gassy, and still very constipated. I fear I am adding to the problem. Anyone out there with an answer? I am stopping it today.

I'm on a Gluten Free Diet. I usually eat UDI's Gluten Free Bread. One day they where out so I bought Rudi's instead. A few hours later I had pain in my Stomach and back. Extreme Gas and Bloating. So I looked at the ingredients and one of them is Inulin. UDI's does NOT use that ingredient in their. Read. So I knew that was the cause. Spent the rest of the day in bed and the restroom. I came to the conclusion that it had to be the Inulin in Rudi's bread. Not buying that one again. Rather not eat bread. Read More Read Less

It was AWFUL!!!! It made me physically ill. I had a terrible headache that lasted two days, horrible intestinal gas that was almost constant and it lasted four days, I had excruciating pain across the middle area of my back caused by the constant production of the excessive gas, I had an overly bloated stomach and gut from the excessive gas, I was unable to go out in public because of the "explosiveness" of the gas, I ached all over, I had diarrhea, I was exhausted from all of this and slept thruout the better part of three days, if I would've been employed I would not have been able to go to work, I missed Church on Sunday because of it, and all of this because I used one scant teaspoon of this crap for the addition of fiber to my diet!!!!!!!!!!!! I would recommend that this "crap" be taken off the market!!!!!! There are so much better fiber products out there!!!!!! I would hate to think of what all would've happened to me had I taken the full recommended dosage!!!!!! I probably would have ended up in the ER!!!!!! This stuff is horrible!!!!!!!!!!!! I also had a stomach ache and overly excessive belching that did not alleviate the stomach ache and it lasted for three out of the four days that this crap caused me to be sick!!!! I have used other fiber supplements and of had any problems with any of them!!!! It is only this product ("Clear & Natural" by the makers of Metamucil, Proctor & Gamble) that its only ingredient is inulin!!!!!!!!!!!! Inulin is not safe for human consumption!!!! I've done some research on this and the side effects and the short and long term effects and it just is not safe!!!!Read More Read Less

I have never had itchiness when eating fruit mixed in yogurt or drinking fruit juice. Inulin mixed with yogurt with fruit mixed in or fruit juice causes itchiness on my face, hands, neck, arms and abdomen as soon as I injest it. I take Metamucil Clear & Natural.

This fiber comes with a combination of probiotics I take in a product called Super Probiotics which I order online. My digestive and general health have improved. No more irritable bowel problems. I believe it has helped with a weight loss program I'm on. Comes in capsule form.

I use inulin in my food. I substitute it for fat in cookies. I make bread with it. I am diabetic. Inulin is 0 on the glycemic index. It has helped reduce my blood glucose and to lose weight. I have a bakery. My diabetic customers have benefitted from Inulin as well. it helps with weight loss as I can replace fat in the cookies. It makes you feel full and reduces your desire to eat. I buy inulin from Orafti in 50 lb bags.

Too much inulin can cause stomach cramping and surprisingly increase back pain if you have a back problem. I think there should be a warning on Clear & Natural formerly known as Fibersure.

while living in Ukraine, inulin was prescribed for a pre-diabetic condition. It helped by decreasing the appetite and my husband and I lost 10 pounds very easily as a side-benefit while taking inulin before every meal.

I wonder why this "fiber" is added to so many products, without labeling on the front of pkg.? Horrible side-effects and have noticed it in lots of wgt-loss products.
