About the expert, Adam Cheifetz, MD

Adam Cheifetz, MD, is a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and director of the Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He specializes in the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

In addition to his clinical work, Cheifetz is involved in multiple research projects relating to IBD. He has published over 200 articles and chapters on the subject. His work and research have led to practice changes nationally and internationally regarding the use of biologics in IBD and other immune-mediated inflammatory disorders.
