Joseph Nadglowski of the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC) will explain how widespread weight bias is among doctors and other health care providers. He’ll discuss why weight bias remains an accepted form of discrimination in the U.S., and how you can help change that. 

Nadglowski is president and CEO of the OAC. His advocacy work focuses in part on the recognition of weight bias, its impact, and efforts to combat it. He spoke at the White House on childhood obesity as a guest of former first lady Michelle Obama. He has also testified about obesity-related issues before the FDA.

About the expert, Joe Nadglowski

Joseph Nadglowski is president and CEO of the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC).  A speaker and author on the importance of obesity awareness, he works in patient advocacy, public policy, and education.  

He’s a past recipient of the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT) Public Service Award. His advocacy work focuses on the recognition of weight bias and its impact, along with efforts to combat it. He spoke at the White House on childhood obesity as a guest of former first lady Michelle Obama.  He has testified before the FDA about the importance of increasing treatment options for those living with obesity.
