About the expert, Stanley Cohen, MD

Stanley B. Cohen, MD, is a clinical professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He’s also in private practice in Dallas. He’s director of the rheumatology division of THR Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, and co-medical director of the Metroplex Clinical Research Center.  He’s a past recipient of the Howard C. Coggeshall Lifetime Achievement Service Award from the North Texas Arthritis Foundation and has authored or co-authored numerous articles and scientific papers and medical books on rheumatic diseases. Cohen lectures on research and treatment of arthritis and  glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis, and advises major pharmaceutical companies. He’s past president of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) and the ACR Rheumatology Research Foundation. In 2021, he was honored by the  American College of Rheumatology with the  Presidential Gold Medal.
