James Beckerman, MD, FACC

James Beckerman, MD, FACC is an invasive cardiologist in clinical practice in Portland, Ore., with Columbia Cardiology Associates and the Providence Heart and Vascular Institute. He specializes in the treatment and prevention of coronary artery disease and congestive heart failure, and he has a particular clinical interest in helping patients achieve their lifestyle goals.

Beckerman graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College and earned his doctorate from Harvard Medical School.  He completed his medical training at the Massachusetts General Hospital and at Stanford Hospital and Clinics.  He is a fellow in the American College of Cardiology. 

Beckerman has published numerous scientific articles and book chapters and has served as a columnist for USA Today.  He lectures to the medical community and also enjoys community forums on topics related to prevention and understanding heart disease.  He often appears on local radio and television broadcasts,

An avid traveler, Beckerman has enjoyed working with the Indian Health Service and the Nepal International Clinic.  He loves to hike and try new adventure sports and keeps busy exploring the Pacific Northwest with his wife and two sons.
