What should I know regarding pregnancy, nursing and administering Nohist-Plus to children or the elderly?

If you are:

Pregnant:

Only When Necessary: REPORTS OF INFANT ADVERSE EFFECTS INCLUDE TACHYCARDIA, FEVER, LETHARGY

Only When Necessary: EVIDENCE FOR MALFORMATIONS; CAN REDUCE UTERINE BLOOD FLOW CAUSING FETAL HYPOXIA

FDB Only When Necessary: INSUFFICIENT DATA AVAILABLE; NEONATE RISK OF SEIZURES;AVOID DURING 3RD TRIMESTER

Nursing:

Precaution: ORAL BIOAVAILABILITY LOW; INFANT EXPOSURE MAY BE MINIMAL

Precaution: INSUFFICIENT DATA AVAILABLE; MAY CAUSE SEDATION AND INHIBIT LACTATION

An adult over 60:

Precaution: (SOM)(BEERS) ANTICHOLINERGIC: SEDATION, COGNITIVE IMPAIR., GLAUCOMA

Precaution: (SOM)(BEERS) MORE SENSITIVE TO CV & CNS EFX; URINARY RET.,INSOMNIA.

Precaution: (SOM)(BEERS) ANTICHOLINERGIC/HYPOTENSION; NON-SEDATING AGENTS PREF.

Giving Nohist-Plus to a child under 12:

Absolute Contraindication: POSSIBLE CNS EXCITATION & SEIZURE RISK IN NEWBORNS.

Relative Contraindication: INFANTS AND CHILDREN ARE SENSITIVE TO ADVERSE EFFECTS.

Absolute Contraindication: RISK OF CNS EXCITATION. DO NOT USE AGE <6 YEARS WITHOUT CLINICIAN CONSULT.

Absolute Contraindication: MORE SENSITIVE TO ADVERSE EFFECTS. AVOID USE FOR COUGH/COLD.

Relative Contraindication: NOT RECOMMENDED IN CHILDREN UNDER 6 YEARS UNLESS CLINICIAN CONSULTATION.
