Uses

What is Orgovyx used for?

Orgovyx (relugolix) is commonly used for treating advanced prostate cancer.

Orgovyx may also be used for other conditions as determined by your healthcare provider.

How does Orgovyx work (mechanism of action)?

Orgovyx works by attaching itself to certain receptors in the pituitary gland of your brain. By attaching to these receptors, it decreases the release of certain hormones known as luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). When these hormones are limited, less testosterone is made in your body. Since most prostate cancer cells need testosterone to grow, Orgovyx helps to block prostate cells from growing.

How is Orgovyx supplied (dosage forms)?

Orgovyx is available as 120 mg oral tablets that are taken by mouth.

How should I store Orgovyx?

Orgovyx should be stored at room temperature, between 68 F to 77 F (20 C to 25 C). It can be exposed to temperatures between 59 F to 86 F (15 C to 30 C) for shorter periods of time, such as when transporting it. Store in a cool, dry place.

Keep the Orgovyx bottle tightly closed after you open it. This is because it has a desiccant that will protect the medicine from moisture and keep it dry. Do not remove the desiccant from the bottle.

If you have extra Orgovyx leftover when you finish treatment, it is important to dispose of Orgovyx in a community take-back program. You can contact your pharmacy to learn about where you can dispose of Orgovyx in your area. Do not flush the medicine down the toilet.
