Magazine: Atlanta Best City for Singles
Sept. 9, 2008 -- If you're single, you might feel right at home in Atlanta, which Forbes lists as this year's best U.S. city for singles.
It's the first time that Atlanta has topped the list. Forbes cites seven factors -- "coolness, cost of living alone, culture, job growth, online dating, nightlife, and number of singles" -- as the basis of its best cities for singles list.
How do you measure things like "coolness" and "nightlife"? The "coolness" rankings came from a national poll conducted by Harris Interactive; the "nightlife" ratings came from the number of nightclubs per capita. And the number of singles in each city is based on the percentage of never-married singles older than 15.
