  • an infection
  • anemia

  • low levels of white blood cells

  • low levels of female hormones in the body called hypogonadism
  • absence of menstrual periods
  • thickening of the skin

INFREQUENT side effects

If experienced, these tend to have a Severe expression i

  • increased uric acid in the body resulting in kidney disease
  • a condition where there is formation of fibrous tissue in the lung called pulmonary fibrosis
  • stomatitis, a condition with painful swelling and sores inside the mouth
  • high amount of uric acid in the blood

If experienced, these tend to have a Less Severe expression i

  • confusion
  • low blood pressure
  • darkening of the skin
  • decreased appetite
  • weight loss
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • generalized weakness

RARE side effects

If experienced, these tend to have a Severe expression i

  • a type of blood disorder with a decrease in all types of blood cells called pancytopenia
  • low blood counts due to bone marrow failure
  • a type of muscle paralysis due to blocked nerve function called neuromuscular blockade
  • clouding of the lens of the eye called cataracts
  • hepatic veno-occlusive disease, a type of liver disease
  • pneumonia
  • liver damage
  • a blockage of the bile duct that resulting in high bilirubin levels
  • seizures
  • high amount of bilirubin in the blood
  • corneal dystrophy, a condition where deposits form in the cornea of the eye

  • dry mouth
  • chapped lips
  • enlarged breasts
  • hair loss
  • dry skin
  • low energy
  • a skin rash
