- a painful condition that affects the nerves in the legs and arms called peripheral neuropathy

- indigestion
- dizziness
- low energy
- muscle twitching
- fluid retention in the legs, feet, arms or hands
- temporary redness of face and neck
- decreased appetite
- diarrhea
- abnormal color of urine
- generalized weakness
- abnormal dreams
RARE side effects
If experienced, these tend to have a Severe expression
- a type of blood disorder where the red blood cells burst called hemolytic anemia
- anemia
- decreased blood platelets
- very low levels of granulocytes, a type of white blood cell
- low levels of white blood cells
- mental problems from taking the drug
- suicidal behavior
- suicidal thoughts
- extrapyramidal disease, a type of movement disorder
- increased pressure in the eye
- high blood pressure
- a heart attack
- abnormal heart rhythm
- an ulcer of the duodenum
- priapism, a prolonged erection of the penis
- inflammation of the skin with blisters
- high amount of bilirubin in the blood
- rapid deep breathing
- abnormal liver function tests
- accidental falls
- an inability to control impulsive behavior
- a high alanine transaminase level
- a high aspartate transaminase level
- painful and involuntary movement of the eyes called oculogyric crisis
- IgA vasculitis
