[SPEAKER:] If you have hepatitis C, it's important to practice healthy habits while you get treatment so you can feel better and keep it from getting worse. Your liver breaks down everything you eat and drink. Help protect it by eating a balanced diet of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy proteins. Be sure to drink lots of water and cut back on fatty foods.

Staying fit and strong with regular exercise is good for your liver. Exercise can help lower your stress and burn liver fat too. But the most important things you can do for your liver -- stop drinking alcohol. It will only harm your liver more. And quitting smoking tobacco and marijuana will help keep liver scarring and liver failure from happening. Don't share personal items.
