When you're stuck in bed with migraine pain, you may feel like you're all alone. While it won't make the pain go away, you may find some solace in the fact that you're not. Around 12% of people in the United States have migraines, and that includes some very famous celebrities. Read on to find out more about famous people who get migraines.

Ben Affleck is one of the 6% of men who have migraines. The star was rushed to the hospital in 2006 while he was directing a movie. He was working a tremendous amount and not getting enough sleep at the time. A few years later, in 2010, he had to withdraw from a poker tournament due to another severe migraine.

Actress Marcia Croft also has to deal with migraines. She knows what it's like to suffer with headaches so severe they cause nausea and affect her vision. Croft eventually became a spokeswoman for triptans, which are widely used in the treatment of migraines.

Janet Jackson had to cancel several concerts because she was having vestibular migraines. Vestibular migraines make you feel like the room is spinning. Bright lights and loud noises can make them worse, which was obviously a problem for the performer. Up to 50% of people who have migraines experience dizziness or vertigo with them.

Even star athletes aren't exempt from migraines. Quarterback Troy Aikman started having migraines when he was a child. He tends to brush them off because, "When you make a living getting hit, almost everyone has a headache, so it's not something that's much talked about." Traveling a lot and missing sleep, as he did when he was on the road, also may have made his migraines worse.

Model Elle MacPherson deals with her migraines by getting acupuncture on a regular basis. The Journal of the American Medical Association published a study that showed acupuncture significantly reduced how often people who have migraines without auras have them.
