Why Do I Need X-rays? Are They Safe?

Dentists x-ray are patients because we've got to be able to see what's going on inside the mouth. So we can't do a thorough diagnosis without an x-ray. We need dental x-rays to be able to see the inside of the tooth or the inside of the jaw, inside of the bone.

Dental x-rays are extremely safe. About half the dental offices now are using digital x-rays, which cuts down about 90 percent of radiation. You get more radiation from the lights in your home. You really don't have to worry about it. It's not even an issue.
