Vulvar Cancer Treatment (PDQ®): Treatment - Patient Information [NCI] - Treatment Options by Stage

continued...

Stage IV Vulvar Cancer

Treatment of stage IVA vulvar cancer may include the following:

  • Radical vulvectomy and pelvic exenteration.
  • Radical vulvectomy followed by radiation therapy.
  • Radiation therapy or chemotherapy and radiation therapy followed by surgery.
  • Radiation therapy with or without chemotherapy for patients who cannot have surgery.

There is no standard treatment for stage IVB vulvar cancer. Treatment may include a clinical trial of a new treatment.

Check for U.S. clinical trials from NCI's list of cancer clinical trials that are now accepting patients with stage IVB vulvar cancer. For more specific results, refine the search by using other search features, such as the location of the trial, the type of treatment, or the name of the drug. General information about clinical trials is available from the NCI Web site.
