Our population is obese. I know in the Bronx it’s huge. Lot of diabetes. And still lack of awareness among the female population. They still fear breast cancer and as I always tell the lay audiences, you’re much more likely to die of heart disease than you are to have breast cancer. At Montefiore, I see young women with heart attacks. Which was something I had not seen in other populations. And when you say to them, don’t you know that you need to take care of your blood pressure and you need to know your cholesterol and they don’t know. They just don’t know. And it really breaks my heart to see that.
