NEW YORK, NY, March 6, 2018 – Medscape is announcing  a partnership with the American College of Cardiology (ACC) that is designed to provide physicians and other health care professionals with clinical insights and expert perspectives on the changing landscape of cardiology.

The partnership includes the creation of original content to support cardiologists, internists, and other practicing physicians, and collaboration on Medscape Consult™, Medscape’s global peer-to-peer, point-of-care digital platform, which gives physicians the opportunity to engage with colleagues and ACC experts on cases, clinical observations, and discoveries.

In addition, new online Centers of Excellence, focused on the most pressing challenges in cardiology, will deliver practical, actionable insights to physicians. The first two will highlight cardiovascular risk reduction and atrial fibrillation.

“It’s a privilege to partner with the ACC at a moment of significant change for cardiology,” said Jo-Ann Strangis, Senior Vice President, Editorial for Medscape. “With thousands of cardiologists and physicians from all specialties visiting Medscape daily, our collaboration can provide physicians with timely access to the kinds of information and insights that will make a difference in their professional lives and the lives of their patients.”

The ACC represents more than 52,000 cardiologists and cardiovascular care team members worldwide. Medscape is a leading source of clinical news, health information, and point-of-care tools for physicians and health care professionals.

“The College envisions a world where cardiovascular care and outcomes are optimized through knowledge,” said Kim Eagle, MD, MACC, editor-in-chief of ACC.org. “Through this partnership we can educate physicians and care team members across multiple specialties on pressing cardiovascular issues that are impacting their patients and provide them with the tools they need to enhance their patients’ care.”
