If you are an adult over 60

  • management or monitoring precaution: Neuro/Psych-Elderly at risk for over-sedation resulting in confusion. Endocrine-May exacerbate or cause SIADH and hyponatremia. Cardiovascular-Orthostatic hypotension risk. Renal-Decrease dose for CrCL< 30 mL/min. Hepatic-In combination with renal impairment, may require dose adjustment.

Giving Haloperidol to a child under 12

  • Severe Precaution: Possible increased suicidal ideation and suicide attempts. Efficacy not established in pediatrics. Not approved for pediatric use per manufacturer.
