Pegfilgrastim-cbqv is a man-made version of a certain natural substance made in your body. It is used to help your body make more white blood cells. White blood cells are important to help you fight off infections. Pegfilgrastim-cbqv is given to people whose ability to make white blood cells is reduced (for instance, due to chemotherapy).
How to use Pegfilgrastim-Cbqv Syringe
Read the Patient Information Leaflet and Instructions for Use if available from your pharmacist before you start using pegfilgrastim-cbqv and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
When used during chemotherapy, it is usually given once during each chemotherapy cycle. However, it should not be given within 14 days before or 24 hours after chemotherapy. Ask your doctor for specific directions about when to use this medication.
If you are using this medication at home, learn all preparation and usage instructions from your health care professional and the product package. Before use, take pegfilgrastim-cbqv out of the refrigerator. Let it warm up to room temperature for at least 30 minutes. Do not heat this medication any other way, such as by heating in the microwave or placing in hot water. Do not shake this medication. Before using, check this product visually for particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use the liquid.
Inject this medication under the skin of the thigh, abdomen, upper outer area of the buttocks, or upper arm as directed by your doctor. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. For children, the dosage may be based on their weight.
Before injecting each dose, clean the injection site with rubbing alcohol. Change the injection site each time to lessen injury under the skin. Do not inject pegfilgrastim-cbqv into skin that is tender, bruised, red, hard, or that has scars, moles, or birthmarks.

Aching or pain in the bones and muscles may occur. Taking a non-aspirin pain reliever such as acetaminophen may help relieve pain. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Redness, swelling, itching, or bruising at the injection site may also occur. If any of these effects last or get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.
Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including: pink/bloody urine, fever, fast heartbeat, purple or red spots on your skin.
Get medical help right away if you have any very serious side effects, including: breathing problems (such as trouble breathing, shortness of breath, fast breathing), unusual decrease in urination, unusual tiredness, swelling/puffiness of the body.
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

Before using pegfilgrastim-cbqv, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to pegfilgrastim, pegfilgrastim-jmdb, filgrastim, filgrastim-aafi, filgrastim-sndz, or tbo-filgrastim; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
This medication may pass into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Drug interactions may change how your medications work or increase your risk for serious side effects. This document does not contain all possible drug interactions. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicines without your doctor's approval.
Pegfilgrastim-cbqv is very similar to pegfilgrastim, pegfilgrastim-jmdb, filgrastim, filgrastim-aafi, filgrastim-sndz, and tbo-filgrastim. Do not use pegfilgrastim, pegfilgrastim-jmdb, filgrastim, filgrastim-aafi, filgrastim-sndz, or tbo-filgrastim while using pegfilgrastim-cbqv.
If someone has overdosed and has serious symptoms such as passing out or trouble breathing, call 911. Otherwise, call a poison control center right away. US residents can call their local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Canada residents can call a provincial poison control center.
Do not share this medication with others.
Lab and/or medical tests (such as complete blood count, kidney function) should be done while you are using this medication. Keep all medical and lab appointments. Consult your doctor for more details.
For the best possible benefit, it is important to receive each scheduled dose of this medication as directed. If you miss a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist right away to establish a new dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
Store in the refrigerator. Keep the medication in the original package to protect from light. Do not freeze or shake. If this medication is taken out of the refrigerator, use or discard within 48 hours. If accidentally frozen, thaw in the refrigerator before using. Throw away medication if it has been frozen more than one time. Keep all medications away from children and pets.
