Who should not take Zyban?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:

Conditions:

  • spread of cancer to the brain
  • tumor of the brain or spinal cord
  • Symptoms from Alcohol Withdrawal
  • a form of mania that has a lower severity of symptoms
  • Manic-Depression
  • psychotic disorder
  • suicidal thoughts
  • alcoholism
  • dependence on opioid-type drugs
  • Anorexia Nervosa
  • Bulimia
  • feelings of hostility
  • a low seizure threshold
  • closed angle glaucoma
  • high blood pressure
  • a heart attack
  • severe liver disease
  • seizures
  • weight loss
  • Seizure caused by Sudden Withdrawal of Benzodiazepine
  • Stimulant Drug Dependence
  • Sedative Drug Dependence
  • risk of angle-closure glaucoma due to narrow angle of anterior chamber of eye

Allergies:

  • Bupropion
  • Bupropion/Diethylpropion
