What should I Know Regarding Pregnancy, Nursing and Administering Leflunomide to Children or the Elderly?
If you are PREGNANT
- FDB Contraindicated or Not Recommended: TERATOGENIC AND EMBRYO/FETAL TOXIC IN ANIMALS AT OR BELOW THERAPEUTIC DOSES
If you are NURSING
- Absolute Contraindication: INSUFF HUMAN DATA AVAIL; POTENTIAL FOR SERIOUS ADVERSE EFFECTS IN INFANT
If you are an adult over 60
- management or monitoring precaution: Neuro/Psych- Monitor increased risk for peripheral neuropathy in diabetics and in age >60 years old.
Giving Leflunomide to a child under 12
- management or monitoring precaution: Risk of increased LFT's. Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients with polyarticular JRA not evaluated fully.
