If you are an adult over 60
- management or monitoring precaution: Endocrine-Risk for hypoglycemia, monitor closely patient with diabetes. Musculoskeletal-Risk for tendinitis and tendon rupture increases with concomitant corticosteroid use, rheumatoid arthritis. Cardiovascular-Increased rate of aortic aneurysm and dissection within 2 months of use, Neuro/Psych-Risk for peripheral neuropathy, hypoesthesia, psychosis. CNS stimulation may occur (confusion, anxiety, insomnia). Renal-Adjust dose for CrCL< 30 mL/min.
Giving Baxdela to a child under 12
- Severe Precaution: Arthropathy observed in juvenile animals with quinolone use. Risk of tendinitis, CNS stimulation. No safety and efficacy.
