Who should not take Lotensin?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:

Conditions:

  • low amount of sodium in the blood
  • dehydration
  • high levels of potassium in the blood
  • inherited disorder of continuing episodes of swelling
  • decreased function of bone marrow
  • low levels of a type of white blood cell called neutrophils
  • renal artery stenosis
  • low blood pressure
  • liver problems
  • abnormal liver function tests
  • a type of allergic reaction called angioedema
  • pregnancy
  • hemodialysis with high-flux membrane
  • a type of allergic reaction involving the intestines called intestinal angioedema
  • a type of allergic reaction involving the head and neck called head and neck angioedema
  • chronic kidney disease stage 4 (severe)
  • chronic kidney disease stage 5 (failure)
