April 21, 2021 -- Rock musician Ted Nugent, who had dismissed the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic, announced in a video on social media that he’s tested positive for the coronavirus.

Nugent, 72, had a “stuffed-up head” and body aches and "literally could hardly crawl out of bed the last few days,” he said in a Facebook Live video.

"I’ve had flu symptoms for the last 10 days. I thought I was dying," he said in the video posted on Sunday. Nugent apparently posted the video from his Michigan farm.

Nugent, who often embraces conservative political causes and supported Donald Trump for president, referred to COVID-19 in racist terms. He said he had no plans to get the COVID vaccine because “nobody knows what’s in it.”

Late last year, Nugent posted a Facebook video in which he said COVID-19 was “not a real pandemic.”
