Your Body With Twins: 2nd Trimester Highlights

During your 2nd trimester, you may:

  • Feel the best of your pregnancy
  • Learn you're having twins, if you didn't know already
  • Feel a stretch in your abdomen from your round ligaments
  • Notice you're salivating more
  • Need to start wearing maternity clothes
  • Have less nausea and vomiting
  • Notice spider veins on your face or legs
  • Have congestion or nosebleeds
  • Not have to pee so often as the 1st trimester
  • Have more energy
  • Start to feel your babies move
  • Notice increased white, sticky, or clear vaginal discharge
  • Have swollen feet
  • Gain about 1-2 lbs. a week
  • Have more urinary tract infections (UTIs)
  • Find it hard to sleep
  • Feel unbalanced when moving around
  • Have low back pain
  • Notice a dark line from your belly button to your pubic area
  • Learn your babies' genders
  • Have increased heartburn
  • Feel overheated
  • Have mild cramping after sex
  • Notice dry skin on your belly and breasts
  • Develop hemorrhoids
  • Start having Braxton Hicks contractions
  • Weigh about 40 lbs. more than you did before you were pregnant.
