Hyperventilation

Hyperventilation is often caused by stress, anxiety, pain, or fear. Home treatment and prevention measures may help manage hyperventilation triggered by these causes.

  • If your symptoms have not yet been evaluated, a health professional can help you determine the cause of your symptoms and recommend treatment.
  • If your symptoms have been evaluated but have increased in frequency or intensity since your last evaluation, your health professional may suggest further evaluation or a different treatment. Tell your health professional about the changes in your symptoms.
