Cuddling with someone you care about makes you feel loved, and it may have a lot of other perks too. It may ease stress, lower blood pressure, calm pain, and help you fall asleep at night. Some of these benefits may be related to your brain releasing the so-called love hormone when you cuddle, and it's the same chemical that helps mothers bond with their babies. One kind of cuddling, called kangaroo care, may be good for preemies in particular. If you hold your little one against your bare chest, the skin-to-skin contact may help her sleep, gain weight, and breathe more steadily. Talk about the power of love. Cuddling just might be good medicine.
