What Is Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty?

Just a few years ago, you didn't have many options if you wanted to change something about your nose. The only way to achieve the desired effect was to undergo a surgical rhinoplasty. Over time, however, modern medicine has advanced, presenting opportunities for a non-surgical nose job.‌

A non-surgical nose procedure might be new to you, but the injectable filler is a useful tool that shapes modern aesthetic medicine. Also known as a liquid nose job or 15-minute nose job, the procedure is safe and non-invasive. The results are immediate and will last anywhere from six to 12 months for a natural look.‌

This procedure is ideal if you're looking to smooth out bumps in your nose or reduce its angular look. It's more of a temporary solution, especially if you're not ready for a permanent change. It also presents fewer risks and takes less time to complete than traditional rhinoplasty.

The cost of non-surgical rhinoplasty is much lower than the cost of the surgical procedure. It’s a cheaper alternative that doesn’t involve surgical operations. It also requires no downtime as the procedure only takes a few minutes to complete.

Because each person is different, pinpointing the actual cost of the procedure may be challenging. In most cases, you'll pay a lower fee compared to surgical rhinoplasty. Some factors that affect the pricing are:

  • Your unique desires and the results you hope to see
  • The actual enhancements or fillers your surgeon will use in the process
  • The location of the surgeon

Larger cities have higher costs because of the expenses the service provider has to meet. For example, rent for the practice and staff expenses are higher in bigger cities. Also, practitioners in large metropolitan areas may be more experienced and specialized. With this in mind, shopping for a practitioner based on price alone can be misleading.‌

In addition to the surgeon’s fee, other expenses are the cost of the operating facility and the anesthesia specialist's fee. Another factor that influences the price is the additional services your surgeon will offer during the procedure. For example, if they perform functional surgery to enhance breathing, the chances are that the cost will increase.

Other services include treating sinus infections. Get an explanation for all these variables during the initial consultation. Given all these factors, the costs for a non-surgical nose job range from $600 and $1,500. If you have medical insurance, it may cover some of the costs depending on the specific policy.

Other costs of the procedure are associated with the long-term results. Unlike surgical rhinoplasty, you need to visit your surgeon every six to 12 months to enhance the results. Revision nose jobs may cost you approximately $2,500 annually.

The procedure for having a non-surgical liquid rhinoplasty is straightforward compared to surgery. The doctor uses tiny needles to inject fillers or Botox to change the shape of your nose. The process is non-invasive, and the results are temporary.

Before making the injections, the surgeon will place ice on the nose to numb the skin. In some practices, topical anesthesia will be applied to your nose and its surrounding area to prevent you from feeling pain.

The injections address several issues, including:

  • Smoothing out irregularities along your nose’s bridge
  • Camouflaging issues like a crooked nose or bumps
  • Creating an illusion of a longer or straighter nose
  • Raising the nasal bridge
  • Removing irregularities after a surgical rhinoplasty. 

‌Conditions that the injections don’t address include narrowing down the nasal tip. It also can’t narrow down the nostrils to the width of the nose at the base.‌

Fortunately, the filler is reversible, and if you don't like the results, you can have your practitioner dissolve the filler. This will reverse the procedure completely.

One side effect you might see from the procedure is redness and sensitivity around the injection area. This should not last for more than two days after the procedure. Be on the lookout for the following symptoms:
