When you have diabetes and your blood sugar dips, you can boost it with 15 grams of simple carbs. Try one of these sweet snacks.

Eat some hard candy, jellybeans, or gum drops. Read the package to figure out how many pieces add up to the 15 grams.

Or put your hand in the honey pot literally. Have one tablespoon of honey or sugar.

Too sweet? Eat a couple tablespoons of raisins.

If you prefer a cold drink instead of food, sip half a can of regular soda -- not diet -- or have half a cup of fruit juice.

Check your blood sugar 15 minutes later. If it's still low, have another snack, then wait another 15 minutes and retest. Call your doctor if this doesn't work or you're concerned.
