If you are PREGNANT

  • FDB Only When Necessary: NON-TERATOGENIC COMPLICATIONS (RESP, GI,CNS) WITH EXPOSURE DURING 3RD TRIMESTER

If you are NURSING

  • Precaution: NO KNOWN INFANT ADV EFFECTS WITH SHORT TERM TX, LONG TERM CNS EFFECTS UNKNOWN

If you are an adult over 60

  • management or monitoring precaution: Renal-Recommended dose of 50mg for CrCL=30-50 mL/minute. Endocrine-May exacerbate or cause SIADH or hyponatremia. Monitor sodium level closely when starting or changing dosages in older adults. Cardiovascular-Elderly at increased risk for orthostatic hypotension.

Giving Pristiq to a child under 12

  • Severe Precaution: Possible increased suicidal ideation and attempt, weight loss, No established safety and efficacy for major depressive disorder. Not indicated for use in pediatric patients.
