Atopic Dermatitis Directory

Atopic dermatitis, a type of eczema, is a chronic skin problem that causes dry skin, intense itching, and a red, raised rash. In severe cases, the rash forms clear, fluid-filled blisters. Atopic dermatitis is more common in babies and children, although adults may develop atopic dermatitis, too. It is not clear what causes atopic dermatitis, but people who have the skin problem often have a sensitive immune system and suffer from allergies and asthma.
