When you meet one of your health goals for managing your type 2 diabetes, go ahead. Celebrate your success. Just know that some rewards are better than others for you. Treat yourself to something other than food. You'll keep a lid on your cravings and keep extra weight off.

Instead, do something else you enjoy. You could go out with a friend, get a manicure, take a leisurely bath, whatever helps you unwind or have fun. Better yet, you could reward yourself with something that inspires you to get even healthier. Maybe it's a wearable fitness tracker or some new exercise clothes or an oil free vegetable steamer for your kitchen. Whatever reward you choose, use it as motivation and stick to your plan for keeping your diabetes in check.
