What should I Know Regarding Pregnancy, Nursing and Administering Tolmetin SODIUM to Children or the Elderly?
If you are PREGNANT
- FDB Contraindicated or Not Recommended: FDA C;RISK OF EARLY PREGNANCY MISCARRIAGE/PREMATURE CLOSURE OF DUCTUS ARTERIOSUS
If you are NURSING
- Precaution: INSUFFICIENT DATA AVAILABLE; LOW LEVELS EXCRETED INTO BREASTMILK
If you are an adult over 60
- management or monitoring precaution: Gastrointestinal-Increased risk for ulceration or serious to fatal GI bleed. The risk is highest with history of PUD or GI bleed. Renal-Increased risk for exacerbation of chronic renal failure. Cardiovascular-May exacerbate pre-existing hypertension or chronic heart failure. Risk for reinfarction is elevated with even minimal NSAID use post-MI. Hepatic-Elevated hepatic transaminases may occur with chronic use.
Giving Tolmetin SODIUM to a child under 12
